US President Joe Biden made it clear that Washington’s relationship with Riyadh is demanding a revaluation, said John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator in the National Security Council of National Security. According to him, this is partly necessary due to the decision of OPEC+ on reducing oil production by 2 million barrels per day since November.
“The president made it clear that we must continue to overestimate these relations [with Saudi Arabia]. I have nothing to declare today, but the president was obviously disappointed with the decision of the OPEC,” Kirby said.
As the representative of the White House indicated, the Biden administration is ready to work with American lawmakers from the House of Representatives and the Senate of Congress on revaluation of interaction with Riyadh.
It was previously reported that the US Senate proposed to stop the supply of American weapons of Saudi Arabia after the OPEC+.
decision.
