US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin promised to support Ukraine “for a long distance”, saying that Western assistance is changing the situation in the country. He stated this at a meeting of the heads of defense departments of about 50 countries as part of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine devoted to international support provided to Ukraine.
“Assistance in the field of security that we provide Ukraine really changes the situation in real time. All members of the contact group were inspired by the courage of the Ukrainian people and the skill of the Ukrainian military,” the Voice of America quotes him.
