Stop nuclear reactors of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant may be the safest solution in the current conditions. This was stated by the representative of the US National Security Council John Kirby, writes Reuters.
“As we have repeatedly said, the nuclear power plant is an inappropriate place for hostilities. We still believe that the controlled stop of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear reactors will be the safest and least risky option in the near future,” said John Kirby at a briefing.
In his opinion, Moscow should agree to create a demilitarized zone around the station. The official has high hopes for the mission of the IAEA, led by the General Director of the organization Raphael Grossy.
In the coming days, the mission will arrive at the ZAES station. Experts will evaluate physical damage, the work of security and protection systems, check the working conditions of personnel and give recommendations on compliance with all security measures in conditions of hostilities.
