United States Reported Death Of Fighter Of Coalition Forces During Operation Against Deash In Iraq

During operations against the DeASH terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria from December 30, 2024 to January 6, 2025, one soldier of the International Coalition headed by the United States died. This was reported by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CentCom).

Operations are aimed at violating and weakening the ability of DeASH to plan, organize and conduct attacks against civilians in the region, as well as against US citizens, allies and partners throughout the region and beyond, the text says.

The command of the command in X specifies that one coalition fighter was killed in Iraq, the other two others, were injured in Iraq and Syria.

Centcom commander General Michael Eric Kurill noted that joint operations “are crucial to prevent the terrorist organization to use the change in the safety environment in the region.”
