The US authorities do not intend to impose sanctions against countries that import grain from Russia, said John Feiner, deputy assistant to the US President for National Security.
“Frankly, we do not plan to stand in the way of Russian grain export. Our sanctions do not apply to Russian food products,” Fayner said during the forum with the participation of representatives of the United States and the EU dedicated to the situation around Russia and Ukraine, which is quoted by TASS.
“Moreover, we want to clearly convey to the distributors of food products and other countries that they can import Russian grain without any risk of getting into our sanctions lists,” he added.
A similar statement was previously made by the head of the EU foreign policy service, Josep Borrel. He said that Russian food and fertilizers can completely freely acquire all countries of the world.
