US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington will take quick measures if Russia tries to take “referendums” in Ukraine about the entry of the territories under the control of Russia to “make it clear” that such tactics will not work. He reported this during a speech in the State Department.
According to Blinken, Russia put leaders who, as he claims, will conduct dummy referendums to create a myth that people in these territories want to join Russia.
“The results of this vote will be used later in order to claim the legitimacy of the accession of these regions. We must and will act quickly in order to let Russia understand that such tactics will not work,” he stressed.
