Iraqi government decided to hold a general election on November 11 of the current year.
The corresponding decision on the date of the election was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiya al-Sudani.
According to Iraq Constitution, general elections should be held every four years.
In the Higher Electoral Commission of Iraq, they announced the readiness to hold the elections on the established date.
On the eve of the coordination mechanism, the united platform of the Shiite parties of Iraq, said universal elections will be held at the planned time and will not be postponed.
