Israeli authorities decided to help the victim from the destructive earthquake of Syria after the request received from the Russian side, the sources of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
As the sources of the publication noted, the Israeli side “after the Russian request” agreed to provide Syria with urgent humanitarian aid, including first necessities for the injured Syrians and medicines.
In addition, Israel, not being ready to send its doctors to Syria, is considering the possibility of providing medical care to the Syrians in Turkey or can open a border crossing in the Golan Heights, providing residents of a neighboring state access to Israeli hospitals in the north of the country, writes Haaretz.
The publication notes that this decision of Israel in Syria is an unprecedented step in the relations of two warring states that do not have diplomatic relations. Both countries are actually at war since 1948, when the independence of the Jewish state was proclaimed.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country, after a destructive earthquake in the region, was ready to help Turkey, as well as help victims of Syria. At the same time, he noted that Turkish assistance will be provided on the basis of the relevant request of the Turkish side, he did not specify the source of the request for assistance to Syria.
