Chairman of the European Union Commission (EU) Ursula von der Layen on the 1000th day of the war promised to continue to support Ukraine.
On the 1000th day of the war between Ukraine and Russia, she published a video message on her page on a social network.
In her appeal, von der Lyain noted: “1000 days ago, Russia tried to erase Ukraine from the face of the earth, Russia loses thanks to the resistance of Ukraine and the self -sacrifice of the heroes. Today is the day of mourning, but this is also the day of promises. We promise that we will continue to stand On your side, no matter how much it takes.
The politician emphasized that the winter season can be “heavy” for the Ukrainian people: “On difficult days, real friends are known. Europe is your true friend, your freedom is our freedom, and our union is your home.”
According to the EU Commission, during the war that began on February 24, 2022, the European Union provided Ukraine with financial, humanitarian and military support worth more than 88 billion euros.
EU, which has adopted a total of 14 packages of sanctions against Russia, continues to provide services in the field of residence, education, health and labor of about 4.2 million Ukrainians fled from the war.
