Ursula Von Der Layen Received Vote Of Trust In European Parliament

Ursula von der Layen received a vote of trust in the European Parliament and will lead the European commission for another five years. She promised to facilitate the load on a small business, as well as maintain plans to combat climate change.

Ursula von der Lyiennaya received 401 votes “for”, 41 votes more than was needed to take office, and 284 votes “against”, out of 707 votes.

The new program of the head of the European Commission is markedly different from the previous one: it promises to reduce the bureaucracy and attract new investments, as well as continue supporting Ukraine.

“Member States will always retain responsibility for their troops, from doctrine to deployment. Europe can do a lot to support and coordinate efforts to strengthen the military-industrial base, innovation and a single market,” she said.

The chairman of the commission also stated that she intends to appoint the European Commissioner for Defense, and that the European government will present the “White Book on the Future of European Defense” in the first hundred days of its future mandate.

According to von der Lyain, the next EU budget, designed for the period from 2028 to 2035, should be more closely related to the observance of the principle of the rule of law, as well as linking payments with reforms and investments – this is how EU funds are currently operating for after Pandemia.

She also proposed to create a pan -European system of air defense and cyber protection as “projects representing common European interest” that could attract EU funding.

von der Lyeen appointed Rieberus from Spain as vice president in “pure, fair and competitive transformations”, Stefan Sejurn from France – on “prosperity and industrial strategy”, Kayu Kallas from Estonia – “external affairs and security policy” , Raffaele Fitto from Italy – by “cohesion and reform”, Henna Virkunen from Finland – by “technological independence, security and democracy” and Roxanne from Romania – by “people, skills and readiness”.

A new commission of 27 people who will manage the EU for 5 years will begin work on December 1.
