US allocated an additional 144 million dollars in Afghanistan

As part of humanitarian assistance to the population of Afghanistan, US authorities have allocated an additional $ 144 million, the press service of the State Department says.

“US provides $ 144 million in the form of new humanitarian assistance to people affected by the continued crisis in Afghanistan,” the statement says.

Thus, the total amount of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan in 2021 will be 474 million dollars.

“This assistance is provided to independent humanitarian organizations, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNICEF, International Organization for Migration, World Health Organization and other NGOs,” said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

According to him, financing will provide direct support for more than 18 million Afghans, including refugees in neighboring countries.
