The American army in the case of military conflict threatens the collapse due to insufficient funding of the defense sector, predicted the Senior Researcher of the Research Institute of The Heritage Foundation Dakota Wood in his article for the National Interest.
The expert noted that the state of the US Armed Forces at the moment causes concerns due to outdated military equipment and the insufficient number of what is available. Wood explained that most of the military equipment was purchased in the 80s and 90s of the last century, and the Navy had fallen twice in the last thirty years. The specialist also doubted the competence of pilots in connection with the low number of clocks. “In the army there is no sufficient number of units so that it fulfills everything that may be required of it,” said Wood.
At the same time, the researcher pointed to Washington’s “competitors”, which over the past twenty years have invested in weapons, as evidenced by the exercises. She warned that US opponents would not wait until the administration of President Joe Bayiden decides its internal problems and modernizes its armed forces.
