US Court Has Suspended Trump’s Decision To Deprive Children Of Legal Assistance Children

The American judge temporarily suspended the decision of US President Donald Trump to stop financing legal assistance for children who arrived in the United States without parents.

Judge of the County Court of San Francisco California Araseli Martinez-olgin announced a decision in a case of about 26 thousand migrant children who were unaccompanied by adults in the United States.

According to the decision, the initiative of the Trump administration is suspended for the duration of the trial.

“Continuing financing of a legal representation for children, unaccompanied, contributes to the efficiency and justice of the immigration system,” the judge emphasized.

The decision will enter into force on April 3 and will act at least until April 16th.

The Trump administration earlier announced the termination of financing of programs that provide migrant children without parents by lawyers in immigration courts.

After that, 11 legal organizations filed a lawsuit, saying that the government is obliged to provide legal assistance to children in accordance with the Law on the Combat of Trade of People.

In the United States, such programs are financed through the refugee resettlement department (Orr).

Annually, the department allocates millions of dollars to non -profit organizations to ensure the representative office of minors in the courts.

Trump’s migration policy

From the first days of the presidency, Donald Trump began to cancel the programs introduced by the previous President Joe Biden aimed at supporting diversity, equality and inclusiveness.

Later, Trump ordered the liquidation of the CBP One application, which allowed migrants to legally submit documents for entry into the United States.

In addition, Trump instructed to prepare a special center in Guantanamo Gulf for the maintenance of “criminals among migrants.”

US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset called this base a “perfect place for migrants.”
