US extended sanctions on gold of bank of Russia

The US Department of Finance has extended existing sanctions on any operations of the Central Bank of Russia with gold, reports RIA Novosti.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance also introduced new sanctions against dozens of defense enterprises of Russia and 328 State Duma deputies. New American restrictions touched on 48 Russian enterprises. They will be denied the provision of Western technologies and financial resources.

Previously, a group of US senators filed a bill to Congress, which may not allow Russia to sell gold from its reserves to minimize the damage from sanctions. Russian gold reserves are approximately 132 billion dollars.
