The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Berobok called on Ukraine to recognize the International Criminal Court (MUS) and ratify the Roman Statute as its legal basis.
She stated this during the discussion at the UN on the reform of the Roman Statute of the Mus in New York.
“I know how sensitive this question is,” said Berobok.
According to her, the Roman Statute provides for criminal liability for political and military leaders who deliberately gave orders that contradict international law.
“This will strengthen Ukraine, and Ukraine will strengthen the Mus,” she said.
Ukraine signed the Roman Statute on January 20, 2000, but never ratified it.
