The United States is ready to supply Europe at prices at a multiple below those that are recorded in the spot market, said at a conference at Abu Dabi Toby Rice, the head of the largest gas manufacturer in the EQT states. His statements are given by Moscow Times.
According to Rice, in the case of concluding long -term contracts, the price of liquefied gas for European consumers will be about $ 12 for MMBTU (million British thermal units), or $ 380 per thousand cubic meters.
Discount to market gas quotes in the EU will be almost double: on Monday, gas ttf gas stories on the ICE London Exchange are traded at 60.3 euros for MWh, or $ 683.5 per thousand cubic meters.
Emergency gas purchases in the spot market cost European countries $ 350 billion additional expenses. But the price may be significantly lower if the contracts are concluded for a long time, Rice said.
“We can deliver gas to the threshold of Europe at a price of $ 12 for MMBTU, and this will mean the price of gas in the USA at $ 4 for MMBTU,” Rice said, adding that such a price will be “magnificent”, especially compared to the current $ 20 for MMBTU (about $ 633 per thousand cubic meters).
