The US intends to take action within a few weeks against those allegedly responsible for the cyberattack on US government agencies through SolarWinds software. According to Reuters, a senior US administration official said this.
According to him, Washington plans to take appropriate measures within a few “weeks, not months.” He said that most of the US federal agencies that were hacked have already completed an independent review of the incident, and those that have not yet completed it will do so by the end of March.
SolarWinds’ Orion software was hacked in March 2020. The hackers managed to inject a virus into the Orion update, which was then downloaded and used by thousands of SolarWinds customers, including US government agencies and more than 400 of the largest US companies.
