US President Biden will not attend world summit in Ukraine in Switzerland

US President Joe Biden will not attend the world summit in Ukraine, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16. This was reported by the press secretary of the White House Karin Jean-Pierre.

According to her, the US will be represented by the Vice President of the country Kamal Harris and the president of national security, Jake Sullivan.

“We were present at all previously conducted summits of the world. We also support the proposals of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to ensure permanent peace in Ukraine,” said Karin Jean -Pierre.

The White House spokeswoman noted that strong friendship and support against Ukraine by the United States, led by Biden, will continue.

Answering the question of why Biden will be in California, and not in Switzerland, Jean-Pierre said that “no one had a stronger support to Ukraine than Biden.”

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the leaders of the countries to take part in the world summit in Switzerland. According to him, the absence of Biden at the event will mean “applause” by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
