US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia Prince Khalid Bin Salman discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of security. According to the press service of the US State Department, Rubio met with Prince Salman, who was on a visit to the USA.
During the negotiations, the parties focused on the issues of strengthening security and interaction between the two countries. In particular, security issues in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, as well as ensuring security in the Red Sea and freedom of shipping were discussed.
In addition, Rubio emphasized the importance of joint efforts in response to threats emanating from the Husites in Yemen, and the need to maintain regional security.
The Saudi authorities, on the other hand, stated that the parties also discussed the strengthening of historical ties between the United States and Saudi Arabia, as well as efforts to improve international security and the world.
