US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation with Sweden Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard, during which the parties discussed bilateral relations.
The US State Department has published a statement following negotiations, which notes that Rubio emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the role of Sweden in NATO, especially in security issues in the Arctic and the Baltic region.
In addition, the parties expressed the need to complete the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and agreed to deepen economic cooperation.
