US Secretary Of State Has Discussed Regional Issues With Colleagues From Uzbekistan And Saudi Arabia

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed bilateral and regional issues at meetings with Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan – Faisal Bin Farhan and Bakhtier Saidov.

According to the US State Department, meetings of the heads of foreign policy departments took place in Washington.

During the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Rubio thanked Riyadh for his contribution to the establishment of peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Topics such as the expansion of economic and defense cooperation between the two countries, ensuring the freedom of shipping in the Red Sea and the elimination of the “threat of the Hussites” in the region.

During the meeting, diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving a “long -term ceasefire” in the gas sector were also evaluated. In addition, an agreement was reached on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

The ministers agreed on the need to return the Sudanese army and the forces of quick response (SBR) to peaceful negotiations, the protection of the civilian population, the opening of humanitarian corridors and the restoration of the management of the civil administration in the country.

Meeting Rubio and Saidova

Rubio also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtier Saidov.

During the meeting, the USP support for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Uzbekistan was confirmed, and relations between the two countries were discussed.

The parties discussed issues such as an increase in investment between countries, cooperation in the field of rare earth metals and other sectors, as well as the modernization of nuclear energy technologies.
