After the exacerbation of the crisis in Ukraine, the United States is actively urging the European Union (EU) to introduce numerous sanctions against Russia, while experiencing less damage from them than European partners. Washington’s deception was reported by journalist Syzia Cao in her article for Global Times.
“The European Union, closely related to Moscow in the industrial and energy spheres, is experiencing serious consequences that affect the production and life of ordinary people,” the author notes.
According to the director of the Institute of International Relations of the People’s University of Ivai Van, the EU has already begun to think about whether he was “fooled” by the United States, imposing more and more sanctions against Russia.
Director of the European Department of the Chinese Institute of International Studies, Hunjiang Tsui, believes that the seventh package of EU sanctions may be “largely symbolic,” as its members cannot agree on many issues.
