USA And Armenia Signed Strategic Partnership Agreement

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday, January 14 in Washington signed a charter about the strategic partnership between Yerevan and Washington.

“This is a cornerstone in the relations of Armenia and the USA. We create a strategic partnership commission that provides a whole circle of opportunities to expand our interaction in a number of directions – economics, defense, safety, democracy,” Blinken said.

He said that next week a special border security group will visit Armenia for joint work.

He noted that in the direction of strengthening the world and protecting the boundaries of Armenia, the initiative of Eagle Partner will continue. “Armenia also joins the global coalition against deash,” Blinken said.

Secretary of State expressed confidence that the Charter about the strategic partnership between Armenia and the USA “will contribute to the creation of a more peaceful, safe and independent South Caucasus.”

For his part, Mirzoyan said that the Charter “is the basis and confirms the partnership of Armenia and the USA in the energy, economic spheres, security and defense areas.”
