The American National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, as part of a visit to the United States, met with Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission General Zhang Yusia.
As reported in the White House, Sullivan during the meeting emphasized that both countries are common that the competition between them does not grow into conflict or confrontation.
The parties again confirmed the need for high -level diplomacy and open communication channels between the United States and China, as well as the importance of maintaining communication channels between the armies of the two countries.
The US National Security Advisor also emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the commitment of the United States Freedom of shipping in the South China Sea.
Having expressed concern about China’s support, the Russian defense industry, Sullivan noted that the escalation of tension and miscalculations in cyberspace should be avoided.
Sullivan also pointed out the need to achieve an agreement on the ceasefire in the gas sector and the exchange of prisoners.
From August 27 to 29, the US Presidential Adviser for National Security is on a visit to the PRC for meetings with senior officials of the country in order to discuss bilateral, regional and global issues.
