USA And Russia Agreed To Create Consulting Mechanism In Ukraine

The American and Russian delegations agreed to create a consulting mechanism to resolve issues complicating bilateral relations.

Bilateral negotiations in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Er-Riyada, aimed at normalizing diplomatic relations, were devoted to the cessation of war in Ukraine and the study of future cooperation on geopolitical and economic issues.

The representative of the State Department Tammy Bruce said that the United States has been committed to the cessation of violence and the use of its global influence for unification of nations.

She emphasized that President Donald Trump is the only leader who can become an intermediary in establishing peace between Ukraine and Russia. The connections between Russia and the United States during the first term of Trump in 2017-2021 are evaluated as warm.

The delegations agreed to appoint high -level groups to work on sustainable settlement in Ukraine and lay the foundation for future cooperation in the areas of the economy and investment.

Both parties promised to continue interaction to ensure progress.

The discussions followed the telephone conversation of Trump with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place last week and became a step towards improving relations and preparing for the potential summit of the United States and Russia.

Discussions organized by Saudi Arabia to support diplomatic dialogue, marked the first meeting of Russian and US diplomats since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, almost three years ago.

The Russian delegation is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, it includes Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov and the head of the Russian direct investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev.

from the USA, the delegation is headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The commission includes National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and a special envoy to the Middle East of Steve Witkoff,
