The US presidential administration supported the potential sale of fighters of the Republic of Turkey, Reuters said. This happened the day after Turkey’s lifting the veto to enter Sweden and Finland to NATO.
Assistant Minister of Defense on International Security of Celeste Vallander said: “The United States supports the modernization of Turkey of its fleet of fighters, because this is a contribution to NATO security and, therefore, to America’s safety.”
plans for the sale of the Turkish side of fighters are under development.
Earlier, Turkey turned to Washington with a request to sell Ankara 40 F-16 fighters and about 80 modernization sets for existing combat aircraft.
