Deputy Minister of Finance of Financial Intelligence and Combating Terrorism Brian Nelson during a trip to Turkey and the Middle East will warn the countries and enterprises next week that they may lose access to the US market.
Reuters writes that this can happen if these countries are conducting business with organizations in respect of which US sanctions have been imposed. Nelson will visit Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey from January 29 to February 3.
During meetings with government officials, as well as business and financial institutions, Nelson will remind them that Washington will continue to apply his sanctions. “Persons and institutions working in permissive jurisdictions risk potentially losing access to US markets due to the fact that they conduct business with organizations under sanctions, or do not conduct a proper verification,” said the speaker of the Ministry of Finance.
During a visit to Turkey, Nelson will warn enterprises and banks that they should avoid operations related to the potential transmission of dual -purpose technologies, which can ultimately be used by the Russian military. Double -purpose items can have both commercial and military use.
