Javelin anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine are not effective due to the complete lack of technical support, the APU soldiers are forced to translate instructions to them through an online translator, reports Washington Post with reference to the Veterans of the American Army.
According to the Pentagon, since February the United States has already delivered to Ukraine 7.1 thousand Javelin PTRS and 2.2 thousand portable STINGER anti-aircraft missile systems.
According to the instructor-vulture Mark Heyvordo, the Javelin PTRK, set by Ukraine, was considered broken until it turned out that they do not work because the Ukrainian military translate instructions for them with the help of the Google Translate translator. According to Hayword, the Javelin PTRC is much more difficult to use than other types of portable missiles. For the operation of the complex, batteries and an argon cooling agent are required, and a 258-page manual is included in the supply kit.
Hayword noted that Ukrainian Javelin users cannot call call centers or a “hot line”, as American troops do if they themselves cannot eliminate the problems.
Hayword said that two computer programs that the US Army considers the main in the process of teaching this system are also missing in the Javelin Armed Forces. One of them is a guide to basic skills that describe the launch sequence, this is a mandatory training course for the US military. Another program is a set of tactical training, with which American troops imitate combat operations on the exercises.
