According to the Italian media, the vandal, which came to St. Peter’s Cathedral, climbed the altar and began to throw a candelabra on the floor.
As a result, six candelabri dated 1865, the cost of which is estimated at 30 thousand euros, turned out to be defeated. Vandal, who, as it turned out, is a citizen of Romania, was detained at the scene of the Vatican Gendarmerie.
