The Minister of Internal Affairs and Justice of Venezuela Diosdado Cable denied reports about the detention of the opposition leader Maria Korina Machado.
Messages about the detention of Machado are completely groundless, Kabelo said during participation in the march in support of President Nicholas Maduro.
According to the minister, they are trying to sow chaos in the Bolivarian Republic. “This is a fully fabricated statement, I absolutely assure you in this. If they were going to detain it, they would have been detained for a long time,” Kabelo said.
The head of the department attracted attention to the fact that a very small number of activists took part in the opposition organized by opposition. “They know that they were lying. They raised a noise due to the detention of Machado. Soon after, statements were published by former heads of state and political organizations calling it out,” continued Cabel.
The minister also expressed a negative reaction about criticism of a number of countries to Maduro. “If they come to Venezuela with poor intentions, they will receive a well -deserved answer. Stop disrespect for our country. Venezuela is a free and independent state,” the minister said.
After reports about the detention of Machado, countries such as Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica fell up with a sharp criticism of Venezuela and demanded the release of the politician.
The leader of the opposition Machado wrote in X that was detained by law enforcement agencies, but is now in a safe place. The politician also claims that the security forces wounded one of the citizens during her detention.
