The Venice Commission is holding its final plenary session of the year on 16 and 17 December. The constitutional law experts are expected to adopt opinions on amendments to the Judicial Code of Armenia, on draft amendments to the Election Code and the Law on Political Associations of Citizens in Georgia (jointly with OSCE/ODIHR), on draft amendments to the Law on the Judicial Council and Judges of Montenegro, on the draft law of Kosovo* on the State Bureau for verification and compensation of unjustified assets, on the draft Law on the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic Moldova, on Serbian draft legislation related to constitutional amendments on the judiciary and on the prosecution service, as well as on the functioning of democratic institutions (jointly with OSCE/ODIHR).
The Venice Commission will also adopt amicus curiae briefs for Armenia and for the Republic of Moldova and is expected to endorse urgent opinions on amendments to the Law on the President of Montenegro and on the selection of candidates for the Constitutional Court judge position in Ukraine.
European Commission Vice President Věra Jourová also is taking part in the plenary session.
