Vice President Of Turkey: Over Past Three Months, 145,639 Citizens Have Returned To Syria

Turkish Vice-President Jewdates Yilmaz said that according to the Migration Department, the number of Syrians who voluntarily and safely returned to their country amounted to 145,639 people from December 924 to March 16, 2025. The total number of people who returned to their countries, from 2017 to 2025 reached 885 642.

Yilmaz emphasized that migration data are dynamic and may change daily. “In my speech yesterday, I indicated that on March 6 the total number of return was 873 thousand people. According to the Migration Department, the number of Syrians who voluntarily and safely returned were 145,639 people from December 924 to March 16, 2025, and the total return figure from 2017 to 2025 was 885,642 people,” he explained to him in social networks.

He noted that in the first stage the return occurred in safe zones created as part of cross -border operations, and then the process accelerated after the overthrow of the dictatorial regime. In connection with the process of recovery in Syria, improving safety conditions, basic services and the economic situation, it is expected that these numbers will continue to grow at a faster pace.
