As a result of floods in Libya, 6 thousand people died, thousands were missing. This was announced “Anadol” by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Government of the National Unity of Libya Saadettin Abdulvel.
According to the deputy minister, these numbers cover the regions that suffered from floods. The largest number of dead are recorded in the city of Dern, said Abdulvekil.
“State hospitals in the regions affected by floods practically do not function. Efforts are made to commission 10 hospitals,” he said.
Daniel Cyclone fell to the north-east of Libya on September 10 and brought a stormy wind and strong rains with thunderstorms located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
The heavy rains caused serious damage to the infrastructure, many residential buildings, hospitals and other civilian facilities are flooded. Operations on evacuation and searching for missing are continuing.
