Vietnam President, Lam, Elected Secretary General Of Central Committee Of Communist Party

The Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (KPV) elected the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the new general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPV.

Lam said that his main priority when taking office was an “urgent need to ensure party leadership.”

He promised to “inherit and adhere to the revolutionary achievements” of the former president and Secretary General of Naguen Fu Jong. It is still unclear whether Lam will remain at the presidential post.
