In Vilnius, the first meeting of the Council of Ukraine-NATO is taking place on Wednesday.
Turkey at the meeting is represented by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In discussions at the level of heads of state and governments of NATO member countries, representatives of 31 states, as well as President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, take part.
NATO leaders met Zelensky applause.
In the hall of the meeting, the President of Ukraine sat between the leaders of Turkey and the UK.
Discussions are chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Opening the meeting, the Alliance Secretary General said that Kyiv at the meeting was “along with NATO allies.
“We are inspired by your courage. We must continue the support of Ukraine in order to free its territory and contain Russian aggression. Today we meet as equal, and I look forward to the day when we meet as allies,” said NATO Secretary General.
