The volume of trading in the stock market of Mongolia doubled in 2024. Last year, shares were sold in the securities market in the amount of 1.5 trillion tugriks, which is 752.6 billion tugriks or 2 times more than in the previous year, Montzame reports.
According to the National Statistical Committee, 60.2 percent or 890.5 billion tugriks from the total volume of securities operations were on the primary market, and 39.8 percent or 587.9 billion tugriks to the secondary market.
The volume of operations with securities in December 2024 reached 266.3 billion tugriks, which is 190.7 billion (3.5 times) more than in the previous month, and 209.5 billion (4.7 times) more than in the same period of 2023.
The total number of shares sold in December 2024 amounted to 201.9 million, which is 6.4 times more than in the previous month, and 2.7 times more than the same period last year.
The average TOP-20 index, reflecting the trend of the stock market, reached 50277.7 percentage points in December 2024, increasing by 983.5 percentage points compared with the previous month and by 11723.8 percentage points compared with the same period of the past years.
The total market value of securities of joint -stock companies operating in the capital market in December 2024 reached 13 trillion tugriks, which is 2.4 percent more than in the previous month, and 11.6 percent more than in a similar period 2023.
