War in Ukraine, crop failure: prices for soybeans and corn in world beat records

World prices for soybeans and corn from the beginning of the year have risen and are approaching record maximums. Since the beginning of 2022, the cost of soy -beans increased by 27%, corn – by 37%. The reason was the war in Ukraine, bad yields in South America, bad weather in the United States and the growth of demand for raw materials for biofuel, said The Wall Street Journal.

The publication wrote that the futures on corn on the evening of April 27 grew to $ 8.15 per booster, and this has become a record since 2012. The price did not reach the historical record only 24 cents.

The cost of soy-bob futures on April 27 was higher than $ 17 for Bushel for the first time since 2012. In addition, prices for vegetable oil, wheat and oats in 2022 have already overcome historical maximums.
