Washington Discussed Strengthening Of Strategic Partnership Between Moldova And USA

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Mikhai Popshai met with representatives of the US Congress to discuss strategic partnership, regional security and the European Course of Moldova.

According to Moldipers, in Washington, the head of Moldavian diplomacy held meetings with the new chairman of the U.S. Foreign Policy Committee Brian Mast, as well as Senator Roger Wicker, Chairman of the Security Committee and Helsinki Committee.

Discussions concerned to strengthen strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America, promoting the European path of the country, as well as current challenges in a geopolitical context.

Officials discussed the influence of the conflict in Ukraine on regional security, measures taken by the Republic of Moldova to counter harmful external influence, as well as the efforts undertaken to increase energy and cybernetic sustainability.

“I express the appreciation of the Republic of Moldova to the United States for constant support for many years, which has significantly influenced the strengthening of our defense capabilities and strengthen state institutions,” said Pepshaya.

The Foreign Minister also met with the co -chairs of the Assembly in the Republic of Moldova in the House of Representatives of Congressmen Mike Lowler, Deborah Ross and Keit Selfh, the latter is the new chairman of the subcommittee in Europe.

Vice Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the parliamentary group in strengthening relations between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America and thanked the meeting members for the promotion of the interests of the Republic of Moldova in the US Congress and strengthen the partnership between the two states.
