Washington Post: Explosions in Crimea – result of operation of Ukrainian special forces

Explosions at the Russian military airfield in Novofedorovka (Crimea) were the result of the operation of Ukrainian special forces, according to the American newspaper The Washington Post with reference to an unnamed representative of the Ukrainian government.

The publication does not specify which unit is in question, but in the past the Western media wrote that the Ukrainian forces of special operations are organizing operations in the deep rear of the Russian troops, including in Russia, BBC notes.

The interlocutor of the Washington Post in the Ukrainian government did not specify exactly how the attack in Crimea was organized. The representative of the American government told the publication on the terms of anonymity that the attack in Novofedorovka probably carried out Ukraine, while Kyiv did not use the weapons provided to it by Washington.

On Wednesday morning, Ukrainian air forces said that nine Russian aircraft were destroyed in Novofedorovka, however, it is impossible to check the reliability of this information, BBC
