Western countries announced new measures to support Ukraine at the Crimean Platform summit. Among them are new sanctions against Russia, sending additional weapons and other support measures, writes Radio NV.
In the online format, more than 60 countries and foreign organizations met. European leaders spoke about the support of Ukraine.
The European Commission President Ursula von der Lyain said that Europe never recognizes the annexation of Crimea. General Secretary of NATO Jens Stoltenberg agreed with her. “Winter will be difficult, and we see that the war is going for exhaustion. But we will provide Ukraine’s support so that it can withstand as a sovereign independent nation as much as it will be necessary,” he said.
Canada and Germany announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. In new supplies there will be air defense systems, missile systems and ammunition. Ottawa will impose new sanctions against 62 Russian individuals and one company from the defense sector.
