The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan today reported that at the early presidential elections held in the country on March 12, the victory won Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for which 72.97% of voters voted. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Cabinet and the Son of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, participated in the elections as a candidate from the ruling Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov was born on September 22, 1981 in Ashgabat. The only son of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In 2001 he graduated from the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov in the specialty “Engineer-technologist”, in 2011 – the Diplomatic Academy of Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in the specialist “specialist in international relations”. Doctor of Technical Sciences (2015).
In July-November 2001, he worked as a major specialist in the management of foreign economic relations of the State Association of the Food Industry of Turkmenistan. In 2001-2003, urgent military service passed.
From 2003 to 2008, he held the post of chief specialist of the main department for the fruits and vegetable industry, then the main specialist of the main unit for non-alcoholic beer and the wine industry of the State Association of the Food Industry of Turkmenistan. In 2008-2011, during training in the Dipacidemic of the Russian Foreign Ministry, was an adviser to the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation. In 2011-2013 he studied at Geneva (Switzerland) in the Security Policy Center, he received a specialty “Specialist in European and International Security”. At the same years, he worked as an advisor to the permanent representation of Turkmenistan under the UN in Geneva.
In August-December 2013, he served as head of the Department of European Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan. From 2013 to 2016 – Deputy Director of the State Agency under the Presidential Office and the Use of Hydrocarbon Resources. In 2016-2017, he headed the Department of International Information Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
From March 30, 2018, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. In January-June 2019 – Deputy Hikima (chapters of the Administration) of the Akhal Velayat, from June 17, 2019 to February 7, 2020 – Holy Akhal Velayat. From February 7, 2020 to February 11, 2021 – Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan.
On February 11, 2021, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers was appointed, who headed his father, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. At the same time, he took the post of Chairman of the Highest Control Chamber of Turkmenistan (the highest state control body for financial and economic issues) and entered the Security Council. From July 9, 2021 – Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Cabinet of Economics, Banks and International Financial Organizations.
Heads the Association “Turkmen Alabai” (from May 2020) and the Akhaltechian horse breeding Association (from April 2021). Lieutenant Colonel (2017). Owns English and Russian languages. Married, father of four children.
