The passenger train got off the rails near the city of Navabshah in Pakistan, as a result of which 22 people were killed and 50 were injured, said the Minister of Railways of Hawaja Saad Rafik.
According to him, 10 wagons of the passenger train Hazara Expressi, who followed from Karachi to Ravalpindi, left the rails near Navabshah.
Rafik said that the accident could occur as a result of “technical malfunction” or “sabotage.”
According to the local police, the bodies of 22 dead were discovered at the scene of the incident, 50 wounded were delivered to the nearest hospitals.
Search and rescue work is ongoing. There is a probability of an increase in the number of dead.
In June 2021, 63 passengers were killed in Pakistan when two trains collided.
