The US President’s adviser Jake Sullivan talked with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia and urged to steps that would reduce the tension between the countries. This is stated in the press service of the White House following the results of telephone conversations of Sullivan with the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration Hikmet Gadzhiev and Secretary of the Security Council Armenia Armen Grigoryan.
“In these calls, they appreciated the progress achieved in peace negotiations (past – ed.) With the assistance of the EU and the USA … All confirmed their commitment to negotiations in order to conclude a peace agreement. Mr. Sullivan urged both parties to consider the possibility of steps that will weaken tension and serve as the basis for good neighborly relations in the future, ”the statement said.
