White House explained plans for further sanctions against Russian Federation

The White House told how they plan to further expand sanctions against Russia with partners in the G7 for its invasion of Ukraine. As the European Pravda writes, this is stated in the statement of the White House.

It notes that the G7 announces new sanctions in their joint statement to support Ukraine in order to strengthen economic pressure on Russia.

“The United States will apply numerous obligations in coordination with G7, including sanctions against hundreds of people and companies in addition to more than 1000 already under sanctions; will take measures to detour sanctions, applying sanctions against companies in several countries – in addition to more than 300, which are already on the list; applied tariffs for hundreds of positions of Russian goods, ”the statement said.

In particular, new sanctions are being prepared against the Russian defense industry and deliveries for its needs.

The United States plan to apply higher tariffs to more than 570 groups of Russian goods, which will cost Russia about $ 2.3 billion.

The US Treasury, as already reported, will prohibit the import of new Russian gold.

The first sanctions are planned against companies that help Russia through intermediaries to circumvent sanctions – forbidding them to buy appropriate goods, including semiconductors.

In addition, personal sanctions will approve against a number of people involved in human rights violations, war crimes, the work of the occupation administrations, as well as those who are involved in Russia’s attempts to steal Ukrainian grain and in another way to benefit from the war.

“Visa restrictions on about 500 officials for threats or violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, its political independence, or suppression of dissent in Russia will be applied,” the statement said.
