The United States is closely monitoring the development of the latest events in the province of Aleppo in the north of Syria. This was stated by the representative of the National Security Council of the White House Sean Savett.
According to him, in connection with the current situation, the United States maintain contacts with the governments of the countries of the region.
“We carefully monitor the situation in Syria and maintain contact with the regional capitals over the past 48 hours,” said Savett.
According to him, “the continuing refusal of Assad’s regime to participate in the political process stated in the resolution of 2254 SB UN, and its dependence on Russia and Iran created the conditions that are now developing, including the collapse of the Assad regime in the north-west of Syria.”
“The United States has nothing to do with this offensive, which is headed by Hayat Tahir al -Sham (HTS), recognized as a terrorist organization,” added Savett.
He noted that Washington, together with his partners and allies, supports the political process to the de -escalation and the termination of the Civil War in Syria.
