The World Health Organization recommends moving forward as quickly as possible with vaccinations against the coronavirus, said Catherine O’Brien, Director of the WHO Department of Immunization and Vaccines, at a video hearing before a committee of the European Parliament.
“On the question of whether testing is necessary before vaccination. WHO has been clear about this – there is no such recommendation. The need or requirement for people to be tested before vaccination simply creates a new barrier for them. Not necessarily everyone who has been infected will have a long-term immunity after that. The advice is to move forward as quickly as possible with vaccination, starting with high-risk groups, “RIA Novosti quotes O’Brien as saying.
