As already reported, a group of representatives of the intelligentsia of Azerbaijan and Armenia met in Moscow through the mediation of Mikhail Shvychdsky, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation. The Azerbaijani side was represented by the rector of the Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeili, the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Kamal Abdullah, film director of Ayaz Salaev and the rector of the Azerbaijani Architectural and Construction University Gulcohra Mamedov.
From the Armenian side, the rector of Yerevan State Medical University of Armen Muradyan, Artistic Director of the State Theater of Dolls Ruben Babayan, Director Arutyun Khachatryan and Director of the K.S. Theater Stanislavsky Marianna Mkhitaryan. The meeting in such a format was held for the first time after the 44th day war.
According to Mkhitaryan, a meeting of cultural figures of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow was humanitarian, political topics were not affected, they write Armenian media.
Mkhitaryan noted that he did not know what principle was determined by the participants of the meeting. According to her, they did not represent the leadership of Armenia in Moscow. The meeting lasted about two and a half hours. Will new similar activities be in the near future, Mkhitaryan does not know.
