The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia Melit Vuyovich warned citizens about risk to infect the new Indian strain of the coronavirus “Delta” outdoors, which is less characteristic of other infection options. This is reported by TASS.
According to the specialist, at the beginning of the pandemic for infection, it was necessary “almost half an hour to talk to face to face,” whereas now it’s enough just to walk next to a man without a mask on the street. “The virus is changing, and it becomes more cunning, smarter, more adapted and wishing to infect as many people as possible,” said Vuynovich.
In this regard, the expert recognized the need to wear personal protective equipment even to those who had sobbed or vaccinated from COVID-19, as they involuntarily can become carriers of the disease. She stressed that a new strain is significantly more dangerous and contagious by previous forms of infection. “This means that a smaller amount of virus is needed in order for a person to get sick,” said the representative of WHO.
