US President Joe Biden, as part of the upcoming visit to Warsaw, intends to meet with the leaders of the NATO eastern flank.
This was reported at a briefing by the press secretary of the White House Karin Jean-Pierre.
The president will go to Warsaw on Monday evening, where he will meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda and NATO eastern flank leaders to confirm the unshakable support of the USA Security of the Alliance, ”she said.
According to Jean-Pierre, the US president also intends to make a speech on the eve of the anniversary of the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
In turn, the coordinator for strategic communications in the National Security Council (SNB) of the White House John Kirby specified that the meeting with Duda is planned on Tuesday.
The leaders of the two countries are expected to discuss “bilateral cooperation and collective efforts to support Ukraine and strengthen NATO potential in the field of deterrent”
“They will also discuss the important logistics role of Poland in promoting the delivery of military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine by the United States and our allies and partners,” he added.
On Tuesday evening, Biden will speak in Warsaw with a speech “On how the United States united the world to support the people of Ukraine.”
“President Biden will make it clear that the United States will continue to support Ukraine as much as it will be required,” Kirby emphasized.
According to him, the next day, Biden has a meeting with the leaders of the Bucharest nine countries (Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Estonia).
“They will discuss our efforts over the past year to strengthen NATO, which is now stronger and more closely than ever, as well as how our countries will continue our unshakable support for Ukraine,” Kirby continued.
