Germany delayed the transfer of anti -aircraft self -propelled guns (ZSU) GEPARD, without providing Kyiv correct information to receive weapons, writes the German edition of Welt.
“Until now, the Minister of Defense Kristin Lambrecht has not informed the Ukrainian government that Kyiv will have to order GEPARD anti-aircraft guns from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). … instead of this, Ukraine reported that it will receive tanks directly from the federal government” – writes the newspaper.
Berlin’s promises Kyiv completely diverge with the comments of Lambrecht for the German public, which the day after the announcement of GEPard supplies claimed that the transaction would be carried out through a contract between Ukraine and KMW, and the federal government only gives permission for the operation.
Now the real terms for the supply of installations remain unknown, and the German Ministry of Defense “does not know when the declared Gepard anti -aircraft installations will be delivered to Ukraine,” the publication quotes the response of the Military Department of the Federal Republic of Germany to the request of the deputy Serap Guller.
Germany was no longer able to put the anti -aircraft self -propelled guns promised to it to Ukraine, and also did not receive a formal approval of the Government of Germany, the application from the German concern Rheinmetall for the supply of 100 BMP MARDER and the application for the supply of 88 Leopard tanks, the German media reported earlier .
